Job Description

Programs Manager 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Executive Director 

EMPLOYER: The Indigenous Network  

ANNUAL SALARY: Subject to qualifications 

SCOPE: 

The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing programs, operational needs, financial management, personnel, reporting, policy, advocacy, and meeting all contractual deadlines and funding requirements. 

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

  • To provide strong and culturally responsive program management of The Indigenous Network’s programs and support effective service delivery within the centre. 
  • Management of Friendship Centre programs, initiatives, program budgets, deliverables, community partnerships, and reporting as delegated by the Executive Director 
  • Implements and monitors program resources including program changes, preparation, and presentation of reports, and work plans defining program progress, problems, and solutions. 
  • Works closely with staff via regular supervision to ensure the completion of performance goals.  

Leadership   

  • Works closely with program coordinators by providing direction, coaching, feedback, training, and development opportunities.  
  • Creates and implements a performance management process to regularly conduct program coordinator’s performance reviews. 

Education and Experience 

 

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in Human Services or acceptable equivalent/related experience. 
  • Human Resources education or experience is considered an asset.  
  • • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in program management, preferably in the nonprofit or social services sector. 

Skills 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English  
  • Demonstrated skills in working with diverse groups of people.  
  • Demonstrated assessment skills.  
  • Strong organizational/planning/facilitation skills  
  • Computer skills including MS Suite. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
