About the role

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workday Specialist to join our team. As a Workday Specialist, you’ll work in a team to implement org-wide Workday solutions that will shape how OPTrust uses technology to automate and streamline processes. You will build relationships not only within the People Team, but across the organization as you partner with various departments. In this role, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Technology and Operations, and work alongside one other Workday Specialist, as a team of three.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Lead as the primary Workday partner for all configuration needs relating to HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits for Canada, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Learning and Reporting.
  • Serve as the secondary Workday partner for configuration related to Workday Payroll for Canada, Advanced Compensation and Reporting.
  • Design and maintain Workday system configuration to align with current and future business processes and update/create new configurations as the business evolves.
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand requirements and business processes and configure and test them in Workday. Includes ensuring correct security assignment.
  • Design and configure system reports and dashboards in Workday by collaborating with the senior leaders and people managers to understand reporting needs.
  • Manage and monitor the Workday inbox for any employee related inquiries and action, as needed. This also includes addressing any functionality and configuration requests and troubleshooting any inquiries and escalating to Workday customer support, as required.
  • Design and evaluate future state enhancements to business processes, configuration and/or reports within Workday. This includes managing the overall end-to-end flow of HR data across multiple systems and functions.
  • Maintain user guides for Workday to ensure that documentation is up-to-date and that process steps are relevant for employees.

 

What you bring

 

  • Existing and current Workday Pro certifications related to HCM, reporting and/or security.
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing or configuring HCM experience with experience in multiple functional areas such as Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Learning and Reporting.
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
  • Effective communication, with the ability to communicate with impact, credibility, and empathy.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Strives to look for process improvement and to create capacity across the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks.
