Job Description
Indigenous Bail Supervisor (Designated Court Worker)
Location: Ontario Court of Justice Toronto – 10 Armoury Street, Suite 10-100, Toronto
Anticipated start date: TBD
DUTIES:
- conducting thorough pre-show cause interviews for prospective Indigenous clients
- completing comprehensive verification process
- providing prompt responses to the court by way of detailed verification results forms, with an emphasis on culturally sensitive/specific plans for supervision
- tracking all completed interviews
- effective case management of Indigenous clients
- making referrals to culturally appropriate agencies to address client need
- maintaining contact with other agency staff to create a supportive circle of care, particularly with complex clients
- keeping file documentation and database updated at all times
- keeping other records up to date
- following through with enforcement which includes laying a failure to comply charge when appropriate
- further and other duties as required
HOURS: 8:30am–4:30 pm
SALARY: $51,588 per annum to start (or as provided by the Collective Agreement)
QUALIFICATIONS: Adaptability, Flexibility, Initiative and the ability to take direction and work as a team member. Knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and experience in managing a caseload within a social service setting would be helpful.
EDUCATION: A university degree or college diploma
