As a highly skilled Full Stack Developer, you will play a pivotal role as a valued member of a newly formed team responsible for developing a brand new state-of-the-art Weather application. This application is a sibling application to Canada’s most prominent and widely used high-scale platforms, TheWeatherNetwork.com and MeteoMedia.com.
We seek an individual with extensive experience in Go or Node.js, microservices, and React Native. We place a high value on developers who possess the ability to assume ownership of projects and deliver complete, end-to-end solutions.
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team in creating, optimizing, and operating multiple microservices and libraries that power content across various platforms, including iOS, Android, and the Web. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing highly scalable and high-performance APIs and microservices, while also iterating and optimizing along the way. Additionally, the incumbent will be tasked with connecting and implementing these services into our front-end platforms, with a particular focus on our React Native-based application.

WHAT IS THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE
- Participate in designing, developing, and testing robust micro services used by our new weather platform
- Integrating microservices and APIs into React and React Native based applications
- Continually optimize code for maximum performance
- Unit testing of the features that you implement
- Look beyond the day-to-day to find new ways we could implement things better — whether it be faster, more reliable, or with higher quality
- Participate in a fast-paced environment where your input is valued and sought after — contribute by recommending best practices and continuously driving forward technical innovation
Roles, responsibilities and duties may evolve and change over time.
WE ARE HOPING YOU HAVE
- 3+ years of experience with Go, or Node.js + TypeScript development
- 2+ years of experience with React Native
- Experience with NoSQL and Relational databases
- Proven experience creating highly performant and scalable services
- Equally comfortable refactoring legacy code and writing new code from scratch
- You are familiar and experienced in Unit and Integration Testing
- Write clean, efficient and robust code that can handle heavy traffic
