360°kids – Director, People & Culture

 

360°kids acknowledges its Head Office in York Region is located on Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit and Williams Treaties with several Mississauga and Chippewas First Nations, and is now home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We honour York Region’s Indigenous people, and humbly live and work on this land with humility.

360°kids serves over 2,500 youth in every municipality of York Region through its comprehensive and essential programs and services. The mission is clear—to help youth overcome crisis and transition to a state of safety and stability. Together, their community of staff are committed to surrounding kids in crisis with care through a variety of unique programs: trauma-informed homelessness prevention and housing (e.g. Nightstop, HOPE & SHINE programs), employment program streams (e.g. Every Bite Matters and STEP programs), education program (iGrad), as well as health and wellbeing services (e.g. immediate access to counselling services).

Reporting to the CEO, the Director, People & Culture is responsible for the delivery, implementation, and management of human resource functions such as: recruitment, total rewards, training and development , performance management, retention, and employee wellbeing.

 

They will ensure that People & Culture-related policies, practices, and procedures are responsive and proactive in nature, to the organization’s mandate and legislative responsibilities, offering expertise, advice, and counsel to the Executive Leadership Team and broader management teams. The successful incumbent will provide strategic and values-driven recommendations to People & Culture programming initiatives.

 

Qualifications

 

Among the qualifications being sought in candidates, the incoming leader must have a deep and abiding commitment to advancing reconciliation, Anti-Black racism, equity, diversity, and inclusion in all its forms and must believe intrinsically, in the importance of leading with curiosity and welcoming ideas that can be later synthesized and turned into reality.  While all candidates are encouraged to apply and, in so doing, share how they see themselves adding value to the 360°kids environment, the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers of the candidates most likely to realize success in the role: A) an undergraduate degree or diploma in human resources with a CHRP or CHRL designation; B) managerial experience in a not-for-profit or public sector

 

environment; C) the ability to navigate complexity with care and provide compelling and strategic solutions to challenges; D) a history of delivering excellent work and a reputation for being proactive and recognized as a leader who adds tremendous value to everyone they work with; E) a deep knowledge of legislative requirements in Ontario; F) possessing a deep and abiding commitment to advancing 360°kids’ anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts.

 

Compensation

 

360°kids offers competitive compensation ($96,000 – $111,000), plus employer paid benefits, vacation, and mental health days.
