Job Description

The “Eshkiniigjik Naandwechigegamig – A Place for Healing Our Youth” – “Aabiish Gaa Binjibaaying – Where Did We Come From?” – ENAGB is an Indigenous Youth Agency that provides programming and services to support our youth in North America to become responsible, participating citizens while leading our Indigenous community. 

Under the direct supervision of the Case Manager Supervisor the Crisis Drop in Relief Staff will be responsible for the following: 

  • Receive Indigenous youth between 16-29 yrs that are in crisis from the Toronto Community Crisis Services. 
  • Support youth during the time they are in the crisis drop in. 
  • Ensure youth connect with Case Managers should they need additional support. 
  • Provide resources to youth during their time in the crisis drop in. 
  • Document all contact and support within our database system. 
  • Ensure the space is safe and comfortable for those that are in crisis. 
  • Ensure youth clean up after themselves and clean the space when needed. 
  • Working with the team to ensure a positive, and supportive atmosphere. 
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of privileged information. 
  • Adhering to the policies and procedures of the ENAGB Youth Program. 
  • Other related duties as it pertains to this position. 

Qualifications: 

  • To ensure the successful delivery of the program, we require the following qualifications. 
  • Youth and Child Worker/Social Services Worker or 3 yrs. equivalent working with youth at risk.
  • Crisis and de-escalation trained. 
  • Knowledgeable on harm reduction and trauma informed care. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the indigenous (Inuit, Metis and First Nation) community 
  • Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical demands of the job. 
  • A valid Standard First Aid and CPR. 
  • A cleared Criminal Reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. 
  • A positive, fun-loving attitude 
  • The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated. 

Please note that Relief will consist of the following hours: 

  • Monday to Friday – 9:00 P.M. to 9:00 A.M. 
  • Saturday and Sunday – 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. or 9:00 P.M. to 9:00 A.M.
