Classification: Full-Time/Contract (35 hrs/week)

Wage: $45/hr

Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Reports to: Director, Tera Beaulieu

About Us:

The Weaving Wellness Centre (WWC) is an Indigenous owned and run consulting and psychotherapy practice dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities in healing and enhancing well-being.

Job Summary:

The WWC is seeking an Indigenous Mental Health Clinician registered as a Social Worker or Psychotherapist in the GTA. The role involves supporting client wellness journeys, providing crisis intervention, and following up on client recovery with a culturally-grounded approach. Additionally, the position includes conducting outreach to build and strengthen relationships with other community organizations. You’ll also assist with special project execution, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of tasks. This position entails a hybrid work environment, with some travel and in-person clinical work at times.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide in-person and virtual psychotherapy
  • Support in-person groups and circles
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Assist with case management and consultations
  • Participate in cultural care sessions
  • Travel for work-related activities, particularly in-person therapy offerings at community organizations and agencies
  • Develop knowledge of community resources for Indigenous peoples
  • Adhere to professional and organizational standards

Project Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for special projects
  • Collaborate with the Centre Director, team members, and community partners
  • Develop project materials and assist with drafting reports
  • Maintain project documentation and prepare progress reports
  • Ensure high-quality standards for project materials
  • On-occasion, travel for in-person community engagements
  • Engage in outreach activities, such as visiting other agencies and building relationships

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must reside within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
  • Indigenous ancestry (First Nation, Métis, and/or Inuit)
  • 5+ years of experience in mental health or related fields
  • Registered with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • Clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (last 12 months)
  • Availability for evening work, and on-occasion weekend work
  • Proven experience in project assistance or similar roles
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and psychotherapy skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous mental health and healing approaches
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in virtual and hybrid settings
  • Candidates must be registered or eligible to register with Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and Training

Assets:

  • Strong connection to Indigenous culture and community
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and virtual/telehealth platforms (e.g., Owl, Jane, Zoom)
  • Experience with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in outreach and relationship building with community agencies
