About the Role

We are looking for a strong communicator to join our creative team of storytellers, strategic thinkers, designers, brand experts and digital strategists. In this role, you will write and edit great, memorable and compelling content. You will develop and lead communication strategies and make an impact with creative ideas that support organization-wide initiatives. And you will have a lot of fun!

What You’ll Do

• Partner with our internal business partners to create internal and external communication programs that inform and engage different audiences
• Support business partners to ensure effective integration of OPTrust’s brand and voice in all communications programs and materials
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to develop engaging communication projects and programs to achieve organizational objectives and deliver key initiatives
• Help tell stories, define key messages and bring ideas to life
• Continuously look for ways to enhance best practices and leverage various communications channels
• Develop original content and stories for OPTrust’s intranet, website, social media, training material, video scripts, Town Halls, Q&As, newsletters, email campaigns etc.
• Review, proofread and edit communications using Canadian Press Stylebook as a guide

What You Bring

• 7-10 years of relevant communications experience, pension sector and/or financial services considered an asset.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in journalism, marketing, public relations, communications or equivalent training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of pension policy communications
• Experience supporting communications for c-suite executives
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment and can easily manage multiple projects
• Curious, confident and can turn complicated concepts into clear, compelling and memorable content
• Strong writer, critical thinker and effective communicator
• Proactive and creative in your approach to tackle challenges and identify solutions
