Clerk 2 – Shkaabe Makwa
Shkaabe Makwa is a Centre for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Wellness at CAMH that supports culturally relevant systems initiatives to achieve health equity and community wellness in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and service providers across Ontario. Through the implementation of wise practices, evidence-based models, trauma-informed interventions, and the advancement of research, Shkaabe Makwa strives to transform health outcomes, which harmonize traditional knowledge and medical expertise.
Shkaabe Makwa is seeking a First Nations, Inuit or Métis person for a full-time, contract Clerk 2 position. Reporting to the Manager, Operations the incumbent will provide day-to-day operations support and responsibilities will encompass both reception and administrative/clerical support to ensure smooth operations of the Shkaabe Makwa office space. Duties include planning, scheduling and organizing meetings; supporting and organizing virtual and in-person events, drafting letters and other correspondence, tracking inventory and document improvements, typing up meeting minutes, setting up and hosting Shkaabe Makwa information booth at community events and conferences, and other administrative tasks as required.
The Clerk 2 position will provide support in matters related to CAMH Finance (invoice reconciliation, Visa reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, cheque requisition), CAMH Procurement (vendor validation statements, vendor contracts, purchase orders), and Shkaabe Makwa branding (ensuring Shkaabe Makwa communications materials are aligned with CAMH brand guidelines). This position is located at 60 White Squirrel Way, Toronto office, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required, as well as occasional travel across Ontario
This position requires the incumbent to be First Nations, Inuit or Métis. The successful candidate will have a grade 12 education and/or speciality courses combined with a minimum of six months of relevant experience. The incumbent will possess excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) as well as event planning and financial administration skills. Proficient correspondence skills are also required. Superior interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, detail-accuracy oriented, particularly while working under high-pressure situations, and dealing with conflicting priorities are essential. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate utmost confidentiality in all situations and have the ability to work as a member of a larger team. The individual will be able to multi-task, and work efficiently and effectively under minimal supervision, while being adaptable to different styles of leadership. Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills. Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity, inclusivity, respect and social justice. Demonstrated success working within inter-professional teams and in partnerships with groups such as Indigenous service providers, people with lived experience and decision-makers. The ability to work with patients and stakeholders of diverse cultural and social backgrounds is necessary. Familiarity with Ontario’s Mental Health and Addiction system/services is preferred. Experience using webinar/meeting hosting programs such as WebEx and Zoom is also required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or the ability to speak an Indigenous language is also considered an asset.

Salary Range: $22.17 to $27.33 per hour
